Jandy Luik is an associate professor in communication at the Department of Communication Science. He holds a PhD degree from the University of York, United Kingdom with a scholarship from BPPLN DIKTI. He completed his degree in 2020 with the thesis, “Creative Hubs as Assemblages: Understanding the Reciprocal Forms, Formalised Function and Territorialisation of Creative Hubs.” During his studies, he has received awards from the Santander International Connection Awards 2016 from Santander Bank, and the SIGCHI Student Travel Grant 2019 from ACM-SIGCHI.

Jandy is the author of “Media Baru: Sebuah Pengantar” (2020). He has published research articles in the following journals by SAGE Publications: Convergence, Media International Australia, and Creative Communications, and by Routledge: The Communication Review. Among other conferences, he has presented at the ICA Conference 2019 (Pre-Con) in Washington D.C., CHI Conference 2019 in Glasgow, Designing Interactive Systems Conference 2018 in Hong Kong, and CSCW Workshop 2016 in San Francisco.

Jandy has research interests in media and communication studies, new media and digital culture, media studies, and creative industries. Currently, he is the principal investigator of two research projects: inspirational content during the COVID-19 pandemic, and content-freelance-platform assemblage.
